The Washington State swimming team will host four home meets during the 2016-17 season, head coach Tom Jager announced Wednesday.
The Cougars, who recorded eight dual meet victories last season including wins over Arizona State, Oregon State, Nebraska and Utah, will open the season hosting perennial Top-10 program USC at Gibb Pool Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The Trojans finished last season ranked sixth and will be making their first trip to Pullman since 2013.
Two weeks later Washington State will head to Northern California to face Stanford University Oct. 20 and defending national champion University of California Oct. 21.
WSU will close out the month of October hosting UCLA Oct. 29, the first trip to Pullman for the Bruins since 2014. Jager swam collegiately at UCLA in the early 1980’s and claimed five NCAA titles before going to earning seven Olympic medals including five gold medals.
“We are looking forward to a new year and seeing our new team compete. We have a challenging dual meet schedule this year starting with the two Los Angeles schools,” said Jager. “But the Cougs love to compete and the greater the challenge, the greater the reward.”
The Cougars kick off November with a home meet against Northern Arizona Nov. 3 before closing the fall season with a trip to the Ohio State Invite in Columbus, Ohio Nov. 18-20.
In January, WSU resumes Pac-12 Conference play with a trip to Oregon State Jan. 20 before closing the regular season hosting the University of Utah Feb. 11.
The Pac-12 Championships are set for Feb. 22-25 in Federal Way, Wash. and the NCAA Championships will be hosted by the University of Indiana March 16-18 in Bloomington, Ind.

Ha ha – how about “resume Pac 12 conference play…” You would think a Pac 12 school could have an SID who knows a tiny bit about their sport.
“Scheduled games”
Makes me cringe
