America continues to wreak havoc on the overall medal table at the 2019 World Junior Championships, carrying 8 golds into day 4. Russia is holding fast as the 2nd place nation, with 10 medals in all, but just 2 golds up until this point.
Italy and Canada are in a fierce battle for 3rd at the moment with 2 golds apiece, but Italy has an overall 2 medal advantage over the North American country headed into Friday.
Croatia is the new nation added to the medal table after today’s action, with Franko Grgic producing a new National Record in the men’s 800m free en route to gold. The multi-European Youth Olympic Games gold medalist clocked a winning time tonight of 7:45.92 to beat the field and get his country on the board with gold.
Canada’s Jade Hannah doubled up on her 100m backstroke gold with a 200m back win tonight to help her nation remain in the top 5.
Russia’s Andrei Minakov topped the men’s 100m fly podium in a time of 51.25, while a pair of Americans finished 1-2 in the women’s 100m free. Gretchen Walsh got it done in a new personal best of 53.74, while Torri Huske hit the wall in 54.54.
To end the night, the American foursome of Luca Urlando, Adam Chaney, Amy Tang, and Walsh combined to produce a new World Junior Record in the mixed 4x100m free relay. Their time of 3:25.92 made history as the fastest ever for juniors and gave America another gold here in Budapest.

Not biased at all Mike
Well he did say “for me”
America?? U mean USA. America is not only USA. I am American too and i am from Argentina
Lol you do realize that outside of the Americas most people from other countries use the term “American” to simply denote people from the USA. I’m from Japan, most here in Asia have the same usage. Get over it dude.
