Cullen Jones, 4-time Olympic medalist, looks a whole lot leaner than he ever has in the middle of an Olympic quad. With age comes maturity and wisdom, and Jones appears to be on the path to make gains toward Olympic gold sooner than later. With super club SwimMAC Team Elite and Coach David Marsh behind him, expect Jones to be a factor this summer at the Pan Pacific Championship and World Championship Trials.
Long-term goals for Jones? After winning silver in the 50 freestyle at the 2012 London Olympic Games, Jones is aiming for gold at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Great guy.
But I’m sad he has probably never reached his full potential in the 100 free.
Why? I don’t know.
Good luck in the 50 for Rio.

He has enjoyed working for Make-A-Splash and also at times the social life that goes along with being a semi-celebrity. I think folks all have different personalities have to pace themselves in many different ways to achieve this kind of longevity, even in the sprints. His technique could be a bit better, but then again so could a lot of sprinters. I think his coach is right, there is room in the tank for more. He does seem more motivated this time around, I think that the 50 silver in London gave him a “what if” moment and helped fuel his focus… Read more »
Cullen is a great inspiration to all. Congrats!
He does a good interview. Polished. He’s not too old for a great 50 meter swim when it counts.
Cullen is receiving an honorary degree from Amherst College next month!
Cullen has always been one of my favorite sprinters. Good to see him focused and committed two years out– he’s gonna need it to make top two at trials with Dressel, Adrian, Fiegen, and Ervin in the picture (among others). I think he’s got what it takes for gold in Rio. Hopefully he’s putting equal time into training his 100. It’s gonna be a dogfight for those relay spots no matter who you are.
