Dana Vollmer, 4-time Olympic gold medalist, has had her ups and downs during her swimming career. At the 2004 Athens Olympics, she netted a gold medal in world record time on Team USA’s 4×200 freestyle relay. She missed making the 2008 US Olympic Swimming Team, a terrible disappointment for a swimmer who, at the time, was so accomplished. By the 2012 US Olympic Swimming Trials, Vollmer back to form and better than ever, making the US Olympic Swimming Team is several events. At the 2012 London Olympic Games, she won gold in the 100-meter butterfly, 4×100-meter medley relay and 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
Vollmer has captured over of thirty medals in world-class competitions, from the Olympic Games, to the FINA World Championships, to the Pan Am Games and the Pan Pacific Championships.

Dana is such an impressive woman – great leader, and person. Look forward to her positively impacting people for the rest of her life!
Already a fantastic career for Miss Vollmer! She was incredibly strong last year and was well ahead of her opponents. And without a bad touch at the end of her 100 fly final in London, she would have swum a world record for ages, probably around 55.50. 55.98 is still impressive! A great relay swimmer too. She bears on her only shoulders for the last few years the women’s American butterfly which is overall pretty weak compared to the other strokes. She will still be very useful until 2016.
