Daniel Roy was a 5 time All-American at Stanford, where he holds the team record in the 200 breast. He was the 2017 Junior World Champion in the 200 breast. In mid-March at the Federal Way Sectionals, just two and a half months into his comeback, he dropped at 2:09.57 which places his 7th in the world in the 200 breast this year.

And…one year before the last OT, he could not swim for 6 months in eastern WA. Pools were shut down whole summer. Our small LSC was so proud when he won gold at Jr World, went to Stanford, and saw him in the OT final.
Nacim is also a backstroke whisperer given his success with Anna Rauchholz at WSU
Wouldn’t it be something if Daniel made the Olympic team? His story is already sounding eerily similar to Becker’s. Retired from swimming initially with Covid, did others things outside of swimming, made a comeback in the lead up to Tokyo and got 5th in the 100 free for a relay spot, on the finals relay and won gold, then retired again. Seems to be a newly lit passion for Daniel with no expectations about what happens this summer and that will make him dangerous in Indy this year.
Droyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
It sounds like he is with the right coach for his training. I had the pleasure to be on deck to watch a Nasim practice. As Daniel said he works with swimmer on technique and has a very laid back
style of coaching. Good Luck Daniel I will be rooting for you.
Nacim is the breaststroke whisperer. I would not bet against Daniel making the team in Indy.
