Danish Swimming Federation Announces Award Nominees

The Danish Swimming Federation has announced their nominees for the 2015 Danish swimming awards. The winners will be announced at a ceremony held on April 19th where the federation will also be induct the 13th member to the Danish Swimming Hall of Fame.

There will be four women eligible for the Female Swimmer of the Year they including Jeanette Ottesen, Rikke Moller Pedersen, Mie Nielsen and Lotte Friis. Ottesen will be the favourite for the award after winning silver in the 50 and 100 butterfly at the World Championships in Kazan. She also finished second in the same two events at the European Short Course Championships and added a bronze in the 50 freestyle.

There are three nominees for the Male Swimmer of the Year they include Anders Lie Nielsen, Viktor Bromer and Mads Glaesner. Bromer would appear to be the favourite in the men’s category after winning the silver in the 200 butterfly at the European Short Course Championships setting a new national record in the process.

The People’s Choice Award nominees are Mie Nielsen, Katrine Zinck-Espensen and Anders Lie Nielsen.

The nominees for the Club of the Year are the Them Swim Club, Lystrup Svømmeklub and Hobro Svoømmeklub.

The nominees for the Volunteer of the Year are Dorthe Riget, Lars Heeno Rasmussen, Diana Nonbo and Camilla Joørgensen.
