Dare Rose Wins 200 Fly with 2:00.3 at Piscataway Sectionals

The 3rd day of the Piscataway Sectional featured the 200 fly, 100 back, 400 free for individual events. Junseo Kim (Scarlet Aquatics) won the women’s 200 fly convincigly, posting a 2:15.51. That race marked a big drop for the 16-year-old, who came in with a personal best of 2:17.93. Teammate Dare Rose, also 16, won the men’s 200 fly with a 2:00.35, narrowly beating Jonathan Gomez (2:00.43). Both swimmers split 26.96 going out, with Rose then splitting 30.51 to Gomez’s 31.05. Rose was 1:02.88 on the final 100, while Gomez was 1:02.42.

Shayna Hollander (Jersey Gators) won the women’s 100 back, posting a 1:02.77. The time comes in just off his personal best of 1:02.68. Owen Blazer of Seneca Valley Swim Club won the men’s 100 back, swimming a 57.82. He took nearly a second off his best time, which sat at 58.66.

Rutgers’ Francesca Bertotto won the women’s 400 free in 4:18.94. That time comes in well of Bertotto’s personal best of 4:11.72. Junseo Kim came in second in that race, clocking a 4:19.73. Men’s 1500 champion Kyle Iorizzo won the men’s 400 free, swimming a 4:03.14. He had swum a 4:02.24 in prelims, which established a new personal best for the Rider swimmer. His best time heading into the meet was 4:04.36.
