Dartmouth Outscores Boston University In Exhibition Dual

HANOVER, N.H. – The Boston University women’s swimming & diving team opened up its 2023-24 season on Saturday with an exhibition dual at Dartmouth.

Senior Madison Kim claimed wins in both the 100 IM (1:00.18) and the 100 free (53.00) while classmate Lara Mitchell took first in the 100 back (57.94) and freshman Han Hoang won the 50 free (23.65) in her collegiate debut.

The Terriers’ 200 medley relay also earned a win with Mitchell, senior Clarissa Hoyt, Kim and Hoang turning in a time of 1:46.44.

BU had several runner-up finishes throughout the meet, including junior Sophia Souza  in the 3-meter dive with 257.53 points, sophomore Stella Langenbach in the 200 free (1:54.57), junior Fia McCarty in the 100 breast (1:07.65).

BU will officially kick off its dual schedule on Saturday (Oct. 14) when it hosts Bucknell at 1:30 p.m.

Sophomore Ben Cho took first in the 50 free (21.38) and graduate student Kyle Falkstrom won the 100 breast (56.17).

The Terriers posted a handful of runner-up finishes, including senior Justin Lee in the 50 free (21.44) and 100 fly (51.64), freshman Evan Liu in the 100 IM (53.21), freshman Jonathan Tsang in the 100 fly (51.64), sophomore Tony Ponomarev in the 100 back (52.45).

The 200 medley relay of Ponomarev, Falkstrom, Lee and Cho took second in a time of 1:32.49.

BU will officially kick off its dual schedule on Saturday (Oct. 14) when it hosts Bucknell at 1:30 p.m.
