Dax Hill says the Longhorns are ready for the Grind of Championship Season

Texas Senior Dax Hill is the defending NCAA Champion in the 200 freestyle and he sent a warning shot to the rest of the country a couple weekends ago with a 1:33.9 in a tri-meet against Arizona and SMU. Up until that meet he hadn’t won a race all season, but that swim plus a 43.0 win in the 100 free and a leadoff 19.9 in the 50 free mean that Hill is rounding into fighting form just in time for championship season.

In this interview with Garrett McCaffrey, Dax talks about that meet, training this season, and the possibility of him going back to breaststroke to help fill a hole in the Longhorn lineup. He also talks about his team’s identity, not as a bunch of superstars, but a group of athletes willing to grind it out.

Dax steps up under pressure. He will take big 12s with no problem and everyone needs to tune in to see something special at the end of march. Get your popcorn ready!

Looking to see another nice breakthrough for Dax. He set the table last year and I look forward to see him blister another great 200 Free when the time comes. Looking forward to a crazy fast conference and NCAA season by everyone! Another great interview by Garrett. Hope we can see a lot more these over the next couple of months.
