If Bootsma swims the 400 mr final, do you think that means coughlin gets the call for 400 mr prelims?

Also, do you agree with me that Lochte has no spot in the 400 fr with 6 men chosen at trials + Phelps?

Do you think Vollmer will get a prelim spot on 400 fr prelims because it would be better for Schmitt to race only in final? She was one of only 2 US women to break 54 this season.

Yes there were noWRs but even if the suits werent banned in 09, and everyone was wearing them here, i feel that the only records that wouldve fallen were the m100back, w200free, w100fly… Overall there were so much young talents emerging and old guards crumbling that overall it wasnt an especially fast meet.

Americans don’t like the commercials either…….but there is nothing the public can do about it.

Exactly !!! Usa TV commercials are probably the worse in the world ! We don’t have tha tin europe …thanks God ! The 800 free was cut just after 150 meters for commercials ! How can that be ??? it’s just insane attitude towards swimmers and watchers , fans , ….

I would put women 400 medley on the top list of WR to be broken ! why ? because they allready got that WR on short course ! and because it’s the best team Usa has ever assembled on women’s side on 400 medley : It can be this composition :
1) Rachel Bootsma , Rebecca Soni , Dana Vollmer , Missy Franklin
2) Missy Franklin , Rebecca Soni , Dana Vollmer , Jessica hardy

For me Missy has the best chance to break the world record in the 200 back.
And yes the world record in the women’s 4X100 medley relay can be broken and in my opinion has to be broken. This world record is very high because of these stupid magical suits. And the american team deserves to have it. But it will not be easy. Last year the team has almost made a perfect race and hasn’t beaten it. But it’s definitely possible.

Come somebody fill me in on the U.S. Olympic team training schedule and locations leading up to London? After Omaha, are they going back to Stanford in Palo Alto CA for two weeks? Or are they going straight to Europe?

The Paris Open is live on eurosport July 6 and July 7 at 6 PM (french hour), noon (EST in USA). It’s on eurosport so I think there will be many links on the web.

I knew there were many commercials on american TV. I knew there would be commercials during the women’s 800 free but in front of my computer it was very hard to support. It’s unbearable. Is it impossible to have 10 straight minutes without commercials on NBC? And the race with Katie was so great to follow. No respect for the swimmers and for the people who watch.

Agreed. Infuriating. Men’s 1500 tonight will be the same.

Does anyone think the pool was slow? Some folks are saying that it was…..

It’s the exact same pool like in 2008, I believe.
