The medley relay lineups for the final session of swimming tonight have been released, and there are no real surprises. Take a look at the lineups below:
Women’s Final
- Italy (C.Vofkova, A.Castiglioni, I.Bianchi, F.Pellegrini)
- Australia (E.Seebohm, T.McKeown, E.McKeon, C.Campbell)
- Denmark (M.Nielsen, R.Pedersen, J.Ottesen, P.Blume)
- USA (K.Baker, L.King, D.Vollmer, S.Manuel)
- Canada (K.Masse, R.Nicol, P.Oleksiak, C.Van Landeghem)

- China (F.Yuanhui, S.Jinglin, L.Ying, Z.Menghui)
- Great Britain (G.Davies, C.Tutton, S.O’Connor, F.Halsall)
On the women’s side, five of the eight teams made some sort of lineup change from the prelims, including the United States exchanging all four swimmers as expected.
Kathleen Baker, Lilly King, Dana Vollmer and Simone Manuel come in having each won a medal in their respective 100m event.
Others moves were the Australians moving in Emily Seebohm, Emma McKeon and Cate Campbell in and Madison Wilson, Madeline Groves and Brittany Elmslie out. Despite fading bad and getting beaten by sister Bronte Campbell in the 100 free final, Cate still gets the nod for the final after splitting under 52 in the 400 free relay earlier.
As expected the Canadians replaced Noemie Thomas with 100m silver medalist Penny Oleksiak on fly, along with moving in Chantal Van Landeghem for Taylor Ruck on freestyle.
China also made two moves, adding Shi Jinglin and Zhu Menghui on breaststroke and freestyle into the lineup for Zhang Xinyu and Shen Duo, and as suspected Great Britain moved Francesca Halsall onto the freestyle leg for prelim swimmer Georgia Coates.
Men’s Final
- Brazil (G.Guido, J.Gomes, H.Martins, M.Chierighini)
- China (X.Jiayu, L.Xiang, L.Zhuhao, N.Zetao)
- Japan (R.Irie, Y.Koseki, T.Fujii, K.Nakamura)
- Great Britain (C.Walker-Hebborn, A.Peaty, J.Guy, D.Scott)
- USA (R.Murphy, C.Miller, M.Phelps, N.Adrian)
- Australia (M.Larkin, J.Packard, D.Morgan, K.Chalmers)
- Russia (E.Rylov, A.Chupkov, A.Sadovnikov, V.Morozov)
- Germany (J.Glania, M.Koch, S.Deibler, D.Wierling)
Five of the men’s team made some sort change as well. The Americans switched out the entire team, Russia exchanged three swimmers while Brazil, Australia and Germany each made one move apiece.
Coming in for the U.S. will be Ryan Murphy, Cody Miller, Michael Phelps and Nathan Adrian, who, like the women, all won medals in their individual 100m races.
The Russians bring in Evgeny Rylov, Alexander Sadovnikov and Vladimir Morozov for Grigory Tarasevich, Evgeny Koptelov and Alexander Sukhorukov, all expected moves.
Brazil replaced Felipe Franca for Joao Gomes, Australia exchanged Cameron McEvoy for Kyle Chalmers, and Germany surprisingly brought in 200m specialist Marco Koch onto the breaststroke leg for Christian vom Lehn.
