LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall wrapped up competition at the F&M Invitational on Sunday night, finishing the three-day event with a total of 908 points to take fourth place. The University of Delaware took the team crown with a total of 1,629 points.
Timothy Gould posted F&M’s best individual finish for the second consecutive night, taking fifth place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.31. He was followed in the B final by Maxwell Lyons, who took 10th in 1:58.51, and Jack Currie, who touched the wall in 1:59.13 for 12th place. Justin Atkinson also reached the finals, taking 19th overall.
Eric Dietrich-Peterson took to the water for his third A final of the meet in the 100-yard freestyle, taking 6th with a mark of 47.49. He was followed by Daniel Sanders, who won the C final to finish 17th, and Keith Kamons in 24th.
Eric Lang also competed in an A final, clocking a time of 1:58.36 in the 200-yard IM to take 7th place. He was followed by a host of Diplomats in the B final, including Jonathon Sinton (11th, 1:59.76), Ryan Caffrey (13th, 2:01.61), and Currie (15th, 2:01.94).
Caffrey added another strong performance in the 100-yard breaststroke, taking 12th in 1:00.91, while Lang took 14th in 1:01.42. Cody Kalinowski paced F&M in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:59.93 to take 10th, while Sinton placed 15th with a mark of 2:01.76.
Reeves Connolly led the Diplomats in the longest event of the night, taking 13th in the 500-yard freestyle after finishing with a time of 4:56.43. He was followed by Richard Perry in 15th and Matthew Pozmanter in 19th.
F&M returns to the pool on Friday, Dec. 2 for the first of two days of competition at the Randolph-Macon Invitational.
