Denver Women’s Swimming and Diving Hosts Air Force

Denver women’s swimming and diving will host Air Force on Saturday, Nov. 2 at El Pomar Natatorium.

Diving starts at 11:45 a.m. MT and swimming begins at 1 p.m. Saturday’s meet will be the Pioneer’s “Pink Meet” in support of cancer awareness.

“We’re glad to be hosting Air Force women this weekend,” head coach Brian Schrader said. ”I think they are one of the most improved programs in Division I over the last three seasons and they are going to be some great competition for us Saturday.”

The Denver women are 1-1 on the season so far. They were victorious in their first dual meet of the season against Colorado State on Oct. 19, defeating the Rams 181-119 in Fort Collins, Colo. In a tough meet with Arizona State, Denver fell, 163-131, on Oct. 26 in Tempe, Ariz.

The Pioneers will wear pink on Saturday to raise awareness for breast and lung cancer. The team will be accepting donations for the Lung Cancer Colorado Fund in the name of Bob Cassou. Information on the fund can be found at: http://www.uch.edu/conditions/cancer/lung/support-education/lcc-fund/
