U Indy continued to roll on the 2nd day of the House of Champions Invite, taking down more meet records in the process. The Greyhounds won the men’s 200 medley relay in dominant-fashion, swimming a 1:25.06 to shatter their own meet record of 1:28.94. Jeron Thompson led the team off in 21.64, Jan Zuchowicz split 23.27 on breast, Kael Yorke split 20.88 on fly, and Victor Antonon Rodgriguez anchored in 19.24. U Indy now leads the NCAA DII rankings in the event this season.

U Indy also put on a show in the men’s 100 breast, going 1-2. Likith Prema won the event in 52.76, and was followed by Jan Zuchowicz, who swam a 53.23. Both swimmers were under the meet record, which was held by Zuchowicz at 53.44 from 2019. Likith was out fast last night, split 24.69 on the first 50.

Kaitlyn McCoy took the women’s 100 back for U Indy, swimming a 54.32. She broke the meet record with the swim, chipping 0.06 seconds off the previous mark. U Indy swept the 100 backs, as Bartek Swiderski won the men’s race in 48.03. It was another 1-2 punch for Indy, with Andras Tiszai placing 2nd with a 49.47.

Andrea Gomez was another U Indy swimmer to claim victory on day 2, taking the women’s 400 IM in 4:16.88. She led teammate Marizel Van Jaarsveld into the wall, with Van Jaarsveld taking 2nd in 4:17.66. Gomez pulled away from Van Jaarsveld on the back leg, but Van Jaarsveld made up the deficit on breaststroke.

Lewis picked up a win on the day, with Ruben Van Leeuwen taking the men’s 200 free in 1:36.25, clearing the rest of the field by over 2 seconds. Illinois also picked up a win in the 200 free, as Abby Cabush clocked a 1:47.71 to win the women’s 200 free. Additionally, Cabush broke the meet record, which stood at 1:48.79.

Hosts IUPUI picked up a couple wins on the day as well. Sophomore Spencer Jyawook took the men’s 100 fly in 46.85, shattering the meet record of 48.08. The swim also marked a huge personal best for Jyawook, as his previous top mark was 47.71. Jason Harary won the men’s 400 IM in 3:57.58, overtaking Lewis’ Mariano Sosa on the final 100.

Ball State took the women’s 100 fly, with Hannah Jones clocking a 54.55 to narrowly beat out U Inday’s Johanna Buys (54.57). Jones was also a member of the Ball State women’s 200 medley relay, which won in 1:41.30. Shelby Crist led off in 25.55, Alex Bader split 28.44 on breast, Jones clocked a 24.46 on fly, and Aspara Sakbun anchored in 22.85.

U Indy swept the 800 free relays. Jackson VanWanzeele (1:40.55), Sebastian Wenk (1:38.17), Anthony Williamson (1:38.76), and Christian Hedeen (1:40.13) posted a 6:37.61 to win the men’s 800 free relay. Kaitlyn McCoy (1:52.16), Marizel Van Jaarsveld (1:51.45), Brynhildur Traustadottir (1:50.51), and Krystal Caylor (1:51.03) swam a 7:25.15 to win the women’s 800 free relay.
