Sandra Soe, who swims for Santa Clara Swim Club, has verbally committed to join UCLA in the fall of 2015.
“I love the school, the academics, the team, and the coaches. It felt like home when I visited, and I can’t wait to spend the next four years at UCLA! Go Bruins.”
Soe is a two-time CCS (California High School’s Central Coast Section) champion in the 500 free from Pioneer High School in San Jose. Her best times are:
100y free: 51.41 100m free: 59.51
200y free: 1:48.66 200m free: 2:04.17
500y free: 4:46.05 400m free: 4:18.38
1000y free: 9:51.66 800m free: 8:48.91
1650y free : 16:18.75 1500m free: 17:06.27
100y back:57.36 100m back: 1:04.83
Soe took second in the mile at Winter Junior Nationals in Greensboro last December, and was a C-finalist in the 400m free at Summer Nationals in Irvine.
Soe’s distance events are a great complement to the what the rest of the UCLA class of 2019 brings to the table so far: Elena Escalas (breast/fly), Sabrina Kwok (back/free), Alex Hubel (free/fly), Caroline McTaggart (free/fly), and Mary Pelton (free/back/IM).
Another great addition to an outstanding recruiting class! Now if they can sign Godot, I think the Bruins can break into the top 4 at Pac 12s and contend for a top 10 finish at NCAAs!
You forgot to mention versatile Emma Schanz!
