Diving Grand Prix Gold goes to China, Malaysia and Ukraine

Kuala Lumpur (MAS) welcomed, on October 23-25, some of the world’s best divers for the penultimate leg of the yearly circuit, the FINA Diving Grand Prix 2015.

China claimed six golds out of ten at stake while Malaysia triumphed in three events. Malaysian pairs Chew Yi Wei/Cheong Jun Hong topped the mixed 10m (326.82) and Ahmad Amsyar/Chew Yi Wei won the 3m synchro. The girls Cheong Jun Hong/Nur Shabitah Sabre won the 10m synchro.

Ukraine’s Anastasiia Nedobiga won the 3m springboard with 321.25 points, giving the only gold medal to her country during this meet. She placed second with Viktoriya Kesar in the 3m synchro and also claimed bronze with her partner Oleg Kolodiy in the 3m mixed event (287.28).

Peng Jianfeng (CHN) triumphed in the men’s 3m springboard with 476.60 while his compatriot Wang Anqi took gold in the 10m. The latter together with Gao Ang also won the 10m synchro (394.86).

Among women, Wang Ying (CHN) placed first in the platform event and was third in the 10m synchro with Wang Han (283.38).

The final leg of the FINA Diving Grand Prix 2015 will be held in Gold Coast, Australia from October 29-November 1.
