Florida’s Caeleb Dressel has been smashing barriers all week. Dressel, a senior, set out to make history individually one last time for the Gators in tonight’s 100 free final. After a scorching 40.00 last season, he set out to be the first man to break 40 seconds. Dressel exceeded expectations as usual, surging to an incredible 39.90 to win the final.
Dressel’s Splits:
- 1st 50 Split- 18.96
- 2nd 50 Split- 20.94
- Final Time- 39.90
While Dressel dominated the field, NC State’s Ryan Held had an awesome swim in his own right. Held swam to a 41.08, clipping his best time by .01 and tying Olympic champion Nathan Adrian as the 5th fastest man ever.

Incredible.
In my many many years of following major world meets results for men since the 80s, at least in this Meet & for breaking Fastest Ever! Myriad Records, Caeleb Dressel is the Only One! I have seen in my time who has Met ALL! time predictions/targets. MP is the Greatest Olympian & Commercial Swimmer Endorser of all time, Cesar Cielo is still the Fastest Human in the water with his WR intact, Matt Targett is my favourite Olympic & World’s swimmer always, Joe Schooling’s Olympic Gold will never lose its luster & I wish him well in his future Swim Plans, if CD can maintain his Intense Focus & drive and translate this scy Season’s Huge successes to LCM, going… Read more »
Cesar Cielo is not the fastest in the water. I don’t care what the offical world record is. Doping times aren’t allowed, and the supersuit records shouldn’t have been either. Dressel has the textile and real world record.
come on man , u are going ahead of your self now ……recap , relax , wait until Trials , Pan Pacs , SC WC , etc….
Hugo Boss just announced today that Joe Schooling will be an ambassador for theit brand. So cool and great for our sport also to get more commercial exposure. Super Congratulations to Joe Schooling, his parents, & Singapore! ?
I can’t believe I’m underwhelmed by a 39.9
Dressel has spoiled me. I think he was a little tired going out, but great swim.
Remember the groin pull (?) from the 100 Breast on the 400 MR –
agree overall tired and a bit drained.
Let’s see who he does on the Relay – hope he leads off
Oh yea. I don’t think it was a pull, but definitely something
Even the Baeleb gets tired. His start wasn’t as dominant as usual and the underwater off the first wall looked a little slow too. All that and he still goes a 39.
He left the world at his feet
Haha, great article Lauren!
But seriously, is there an anime character that could possibly EVEN TOUCH Caeleb Dressel? Let alone beat him in a race.
And I’m not talking about Edo Tensei Caeleb Dressel. No, I’m not talking about Gedou Rinne Tensei Caeleb Dressel. Hell, I’m not talking about Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Caeleb Dressel either.
I’m talking about Kono Yo no Kyūseishu Futarime no Rikudō Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Caeleb Dressel with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan (which is capable of Enton Amaterasu, Izanagi, Izanami and the Tsyukuyomi Genjutsu), his two original Rinnegan (which grant him Chikushōdō, Shuradō, Tendō, Ningendō, Jigokudō, Gakidō, Gedō, Banshō Ten’in, Chibaku Tensei, Shinra Tensei, Tengai Shinsei and Banbutsu Sōzō), a perfect Susano’o… Read more »

but seriously, you have to use peds to create stuff like that dont you?
It’s an meme based on the anime Naruto. The author created a character (Uchiha Madara) so strong that he openly admitted he had no idea how to beat him, and had to introduce another character to take him out of the story
