Dressel Picks Up Second American Record on the Day, Goes 22.06 50 Fly (SCM)

Minutes after setting the American and U.S. Open records in the 100 free, the Cali Condors’ Caeleb Dressel did the same in the 50 fly.

Dressel went 22.06 to win the event Saturday, besting his previous record of 22.21 from the College Park ISL meet last month. Energy Standard’s Chad le Clos took second in 22.48 and teammate Florent Manaudou was third in 22.53.

The record-breaking performance was Dressel’s third of the weekend. He set a world record in the 50 free Friday, going 20.24, then set an American and U.S. Open record of 45.22 in the 100 free earlier Saturday.
