Drew Kibler took 1st in the 200 free, 2nd in the 400 free, and 5th in the 100 free at the Westmont pro swim. Kibler has seemed to reacted well to training under Bob Bowman and his pro group. The Texas alum says he has learned a lot from the myriad of veterans in the training group, specifically many different things about how to compete.

The Texas Athletic Director has a big enough ego that he will definitely take a crack at recruiting Bowman. Whether he lands him is another matter.
Carson Foster to ASU
Why not Ray Looze? As much as I appreciate him at my alma mater, he at least has some roots in Austin.
That’s not funny, even as a joke. No one wants to see him return to Austin, even as a guest. If Texas goes outside the family, I could see Bob welcome in Austin. He seems to like going there and everyone seems to get along.
Almost all the great comeback stories right now are happening at ASU: Regan, Urlando, Manuel, Ruck.
I don’t know if Kibler was in a bad place or not, but that training group must be a pretty healthy enviroment if it rejuvenates so many somewhat burned out/struggling swimmers.

I mean it’s better than training with high schoolers in Indiana with completely different swimming goals

The move is already paying off, US is looking like a serious gold threat in 4×200 and 4×100 if he’s able to build on this. 4 guys who can legitimately split 1:43 high through 1:44 mid.

Kibby seems like he flourishes in a go fast year round ASU/Texas type of environment rather than swim fast once a year (Cal/Carmel/etc)
In what world is Texas a go fast year round environment? Luke Hobson was throwing down 1:36 & 4:27 200s and 500s in October. Also Kibler was 1:45.8 in March of last year, so your point about Carmel doesn’t really hold up either
Hobson went 1:31 in October of 2022 which put him as the prohibitive favorite in 2 free for last NCs. Texas goes fast year round
I don’t think Texas is a historically fast year round environment, but they have been that more in recent history. I could definitely be wrong, but I don’t think Ed beats the guys up in the fall like he used to. They still work hard, but I think they’re working differently now.
I’m impressed with his poise and process.
