The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its Division II Swimming & Diving Poll today.  The Drury University men and Queens University of Charlotte women are ranked number one heading into the championship season.

Drury earned four top votes and 146 points to edge out UIndy (145) by one point. UIndy took the remaining two first place votes and is second. Queens (141) moved down one spot to third. McKendree (131) is fourth and Colorado Mesa (127) is fifth.  Henderson debuted this month at 25th. In all, thirty men’s teams received votes.

The committee unanimously agreed that Queens (150), UIndy (144), Drury (138) and Nova Southeastern (132) are the top four women’s teams, in that order.  Colorado Mesa (121) is fifth. The top five is unchanged from the January polls and no new teams entered the top 25. Twenty-eight women’s teams received votes.

You can find a complete list of the rankings at: www.cscaa.org/top25

Yeah, getting back Ostrowski and adding Mikita Tsmyh gets Drury waaaaay back up there.

McKendree added to their ridiculous sprint stable with Lio Perez at midseason (already been 19.9/43.8 with a 22.0 50 back).

Queens has their usual talent – Dusa, Kunert, Delkeskamp, Berecz, Cook-Weeks.

Indy is just silly deep in everything but mid-D free.

This might end up being the best battle for podium position that I can remember.
