Dutchman Bas Takken Takes Down Silverman’s S10 1500 Free World Record

2018 SWIM CUP – EINDHOVEN

Amid the day 1 action in Eindhoven was a para swimming world record by Bas Takken of Netherlands. While competing in the men’s 1500m freestyle event among swimmers and para swimmers, Takker took the S10 world mark down to a stunning 16:11.71, crushing the previous WR of 16:19.70 set by America’s Ian Silverman back in 2014.

Below you can see the split break-down of Takken, as he finished 7th among the entire field of racers in Eindhoven.

 

Takken finished 4th in the men’s S10 400m freestyle at the 2016 Olympic Games. He broke the men’s S10 400m freestyle world record competing at the inaugural World Para Swimming World Series in Berlin last year.
