Dynamo Swim Club has announced the hiring of Franz Resseguie as Assistant Head Coach and Lead Coach of Dynamo’s Alpharetta site replacing Rich Murphy. The Alpharetta site, among others, is where the Georgia-committed Litherland triplets train.

Franz comes from Portland Oregon where he has been coaching with Tualatin Hills Swim Club for 5 years.  Coach Franz was awarded in 2011 the prestigious American Swim Coaches Association’s Age Group Coach of the Year award for Oregon. During his tenure with Tualatin Hills his swimmers broke two National Age Group Relay Records, over 40 Oregon Swimming Records and re-wrote the “Thunderbolt” record book with over a hundred team records. In 2011, he led the “Thunderbolts” to a 6th place team finish at Junior Nationals, with the top swimmer earning two Junior National Championship titles and the opportunity to represent the USA on the 18 and Under World Cup Team.  Coach Franz has coached multiple athletes onto the National Junior Team.

Prior to coaching in Oregon, Coach Franz lived in Arizona and coached a future Olympic bronze medalist and American Record Holder Cailtin Leverenz to two National Titles, a Pan American Gold medal and a games record, plus one individual National Age Group Record. Coach Franz has received the American Swimming Coaches Association “Certificate of Coaching Excellence” multiple years and was a 2006-08 USA National Team Coach.

Long on the National swimming landscape, Dynamo Swim Club has won three Junior National Titles since 2010, including this past summer’s title in Irvine.   In addition to placing Matias Koski on the Finnish Olympic Team in 2012, Dynamo has five athletes currently on the Junior National Team.  Three of Dynamo’s Junior National teamers (Kylie Stewart, Jay Litherland, and Gunnar Bentz) represented the USA at the World Junior Championships in Dubai this past August, where Stewart and Bentz earned Gold Medals.

The above is a press release submitted to SwimSwam.
