Dynamo’s James McGuire Verbally Commits to Miami RedHawks

James McGuire, a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Atlanta, Georgia, has verbally committed to swim at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for 2017-18. McGuire will join verbal commits Blake Brockman and Noah Barr in the RedHawks’ class of 2021.

“Miami University has everything I am looking for both academically and athletically! The team and campus atmosphere made me feel at home during my visit and I can’t wait to start working with Coach Bonewit-Cron next fall! Go RedHawks!”

McGuire is a senior at Mount Vernon Presbyterian School in Atlanta. He was the sixth-place finisher in the 100 breast at the 2016 GHSA 1-5A State Swimming & Diving Meet. He then went on to score PBs in the 200m breast and 400m IM at Atlanta Futures. His best SCY times are:

  • 100 breast – 58.59
