Eli Broman Signs With Wisconsin – Green Bay

On the first signing day for the early period (Nov.12) Eli Broman signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay Phoenix.

Eli swims for Blackline Aquatics in Minnesota and Eagan High School during the winter. He specializes in fly and the IM’s, but is versatile and sometimes swims distance freestyle. In the past Eli has been most successful in the 200 butterfly. including winning the Central Zones meet in the event at 12-years old. In the summer of 2013 (LCM) at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, Eli won the 200 fly there. He finished with at time of 2:10.65.

“Green Bay is an amazing school with an amazing campus and community,” Broman said of his trip. “The team is astounding and the coaches are so respectful. They know how to run a team.”

When he joins the program next fall, he’ll have good company in the butterfly group. Freshman Alex Rutkowski was 5th at IUPUI’s House of Champions Invite last weekend in the 200 fly in 1:54.80 and currently ranks 7th in the Horizon League, despite his youth.

Broman enjoys the sciences and will study chemistry at UWGB.
