Beisel’s time secured her a spot in the consolation final of the 400m IM where she’ll get the chance to better the swim tonight. Under 4:35.55 will get her into the top 5 world rankings, and a 4:34.82 will put her third in the world this season.

The time for Beisel marks the second fastest she’s ever been at a non-championship meet marking an international competition or US Nationals.

The only time Beisel was faster in-season was at the 2014 Santa Clara Grand Prix where she put up a 4:33.52.

Beisel’s best time in this event is a 4:31.27 from the 2012 Olympic Games where she finished second to China’s Ye Shiwen.

Beisel is coming off a 4:09 performance in the 400m freestyle from last night where she won the consolation final and dipped under the FINA ‘A’ qualifying time.

After tonight’s 400m IM Beisel will race in the 200m freestyle Thursday, the 200m IM Friday, the 200m breaststroke Saturday, and the 200m IM this Sunday.

Elizabeth, are you Jack Wolferseder’s neice?? I went to college with him in Texas & knew him pretty well. He told me a good while ago he had a neice that was a competitive swimmer. And I think you might be her. IF so, good luck in ‘RIO’!

She looks to be back on track. I am rooting for her. She is a great teammate and when she is at her best, a great USA medal threat.
