For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Marietta, Georgia native Elizabeth Tilt has verbally committed to the University of Kentucky for 2023-24 and beyond.
“It is with great excitement that I announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Kentucky!! Thank you to all of my friends, family, and teammates for all the support and love I have received through the years. Thank you Coach Austin and a special thanks to Coach Mike for getting me to this point. UK is so special, and I know I can be the best version of myself there. I am so excited to be a part of this amazing team, and I can’t wait to continue this journey with the great coaches and teammates at the University of Kentucky. GO CATS!!!!💙🤍💙🤍”
Tilt becomes the fourth member of the Wildcats’ class of 2027, adding her verbal commitment to those of Cassie Howell, Madi McGlothen, and Paige Housman.
Tilt is one of the top IMers in the class, for which she was recognized in the Best of the Rest section of our Way Too Early list of girls recruits in the class of 2023. As a sophomore at Lassiter High School last year, she won the 200 IM (2:00.27) and the 100 fly (54.81), anchored the winning 400 free relay (51.38) and swam breast (30.42) on the runner-up 200 medley relay, all of which helped Lassiter win the team title at the 2021 Georgia High School Class 6A State Swimming & Diving Meet.
Swimming with her club team Chattahoochee Gold Swim Club a month later, Tilt competed at the Georgia Short Course Senior State Meet, where she won the 100/200 back, 100 fly, and 100/200/400 IM and was runner-up in the 50/100 free. She left the meet with new PBs in all but the 200 IM. That PB came at high school states.
This summer, Tilt competed in the 100m fly at Olympic Trials Wave I. She finished 27th with 1:01.88. She wrapped up her long course season at Huntsville Futures where she won the 400 IM, was 3rd in the 200 IM, 4th in the 100 fly, 12th in the 200 back, and 14th in the 100 back. She wound up with new PBs in the 50 free (26.21), 100 free (57.81), 100 fly (1:00.48), 200 IM (2:17.78), and 400 IM (4:51.61).
Top SCY times:
- 50 free – 23.12
- 100 free – 50.35
- 100 back – 54.05
- 200 back – 1:57.63
- 100 fly – 53.48
- 200 IM – 2:00.27
- 400 IM – 4:16.15
Kentucky is off to a blazing-fast start with the high school class of 2023, having obtained four out of the 11 women’s public verbal commitments we have reported so far. Tilt will be an immediate contributor when she arrives in Lexington. Already, her fastest times would score at the SEC level in the 100 fly (B final) and 100 back (C final), and she is with a few tenths in the 200 IM and 400 IM.

Geez this is the first time I’ve seen “class of 2027” typed out. I’m getting old
Literally thinking the same thing. 1 year after she graduates we’ll have a home Olympics 🤯
