Ella Eastin’s Thoughts After Her New 200 IM NAG Record (VIDEO)

Last night, Stanford freshman Ella Eastin turned in one of the fastest 200 IM times ever (1:52.77) en route to her first Pac-12 title ever. She just touched out another first-year, Cal’s Kathleen Baker by three hundredths.

Not only was this the 7th fastest time ever, but Eastin also broke Katie Hoff‘s 17-18 NAG record. She actually was under that record with her 1:53.33 in prelims, and then was pushed by Baker in finals, taking the NAG record down by a full second.

Eastin swam a 4:03.82 in the 400 IM in prelims today, and she’ll be the top seed going into finals by nearly five seconds. She’s set herself up to be a serious contender in both IMs at NCAAs with her performances thus far in the season.
