Ellen Ellis Commits to New Program at the University of Sioux Falls

For more commitment articles, be sure to check out SwimSwam’s College Recruiting channel.

Ellen Ellis, who trains with Millard Aquatic Club in Nebraska, has informed SwimSwam that she will attend the brand new swimming program at the University of Sioux Falls. The program has just a coach at the moment, and will first begin competing in the 2016-2017 season. Ellis is a sprint freestyler and butterfly swimmer who could be an immediate conference contributor for the Cougars:

  • 50 freestyle- 24.79
  • 100 freestyle- 55.82
  •  100 butterfly- 1:00.21

It’s difficult to project how exactly the conference standings in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will play out, as there was no conference championship last year. Therefore Ellis is heading into uncharted territory in more ways than one, although she feels confident in her decision to attend Sioux Falls:

“I chose USF because it values a relationship with God, and is centered around serving others”

The school was founded by Baptists in 1872 and continues to have a religious affiliation with the American Baptist Churches, USA. The Cougars will compete in NCAA Division Two.

Ellis was a state qualifier for Millard North High School and is a school record holder on two relays for the school.
