SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara swimmer Emily Boggess has won the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference Wednesday morning. Boggess becomes the third Gaucho to do so this season after teammates Doug Nogueira (Oct. 16 and 23) and Zoe Cosgrove (Oct. 30) each earned the award earlier this season. This was Boggess’ first Athlete of the Week honor, which continues the Gauchos’ run of winning the honor in every week that they have competed in a meet.

The award comes after Boggess led the Santa Barbara women’s team to a win in their dual meet against UC San Diego on Saturday. The redshirt junior won three individual races, including the 1650 Free (16:48.59), 200 Free (1:49.87), and 500 Free (4:55.08). Boggess was also part of the first place 200 Free Relay team, in which she swam a 23.54 anchor split.

The Gauchos return to competition over the weekend of Nov. 22-24 as they head to East Los Angeles College to compete in the A3 Invitational.
