After winning both the women’s 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle races yesterday, multiple Rio Olympic medalist Emma McKeon got the job done in two additional events today. The 22-year-old St. Peters Western swimmer held off a charging field in the 100m fly to kick things off on day 2, registering the win in the only sub-59-second time of the final. 58.41 is what McKeon registered tonight to position herself as the 4th-fastest swimmer in the world so far this season.
Notably, Carlile Swimming’s Emily Washer scored a personal best to finish runner-up to McKeon. Washer checked in with a 59.45, surpassing her previous personal record of 59.72 from last year’s Australian National Championships.
