Emmanuel College Has Strong Start To Fall Frenzy Invite

Charlotte, NC: The Emmanuel College swimming team is competing in the 2019 Fall Frenzy Invite November 22-23. Prelims 9:30am, finals 5:00pm each day. There are 17 teams competing in the Invite (including NCAA Div. I, II, III, and NAIA schools). Day 1 finals; the Lions won 3 events, earned 9 more NCAA national championship qualifying times, broke 3 EC school records, and set 1 meet record.

On the men’s side, the 200 free relay (Rosa, Joao, Sobers, Dantas) finished 1st in a new EC school record and current #1 NCAA time (1:19.86). The B relay (Courteaux, Reyman, Varrie, Brown) finished 13th (1:26.80) the C relay (McGhee, Andrews, Roberts, Terra) finished 23rd (1:31.66)

In the 500 free, Alex Sobers finished 7th in an NCAA qualifying time (4:31.99) Elder Oliveira finished 9th in an NCAA qualifying time (4:28.74) Pedro Terra finished 16th (4:44.63)

In the 50 free, Joao Santos finished 1st in school record and NCAA qualifying time (20.03) Igor Dantas finished 2nd in a personal best/NCAA qualifying time (20.05) Thiago Rosa finished 9th in an NCAA qualifying time (20.23)

In the 400 medley relay, the A relay (Rosa, Santos, Dantas, Sobers) finished in a new EC school record, meet record, and NCAA qualifying time that is currently #1 (3:13.47) the B relay (Jones, Courteaux, Reyman, Oliveira) finished 17th (3:29.94)

On the women’s side, the A 200 Free relay (Ostojska, Arnold, Aguiar, Davidson) finished 12th (1:38.11) the B relay (Rodriguez, Scharff, Bouckaert, Svonja) finished 24th (1:42.94) the C relay (Malinowska, Carta, Koets, Pieterse) finished 32nd (1:50.22)

Karolina Ostojska finished 22nd in the 500 free with another personal best (5:08.58)

The A 400 medley relay (Calka, Simioni, Hunter, Aguiar) finished 16th (3:56.64) the B relay (Scharff, Arnold, Aloisio, Davidson) finished 26th (4:03.32)

Day 2 events include the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 back.
