Emmanuel College Men Win 2020 Collegiate Virtual 5000

Franklin Springs, GA – In place of the 2020 CSCAA Open Water National Championships (Lawrence, KS), this year’s event was held as a Virtual event. All NCAA Div. I, II, III swim teams were eligible to participate in this virtual event by completing a 5K pool swim (3.1 mile swim) during the month of October. The top 3 swims for each team count towards the overall team standings.

The Emmanuel Men’s swim team finished 1st overall in the team standings with a time of 2:47.33 (top 3-Aggregate). Emmanuel male swimmer, Igor Bretas Dantas finished 2nd overall in the individual standings with a time of 53 min. 29 seconds for the 5K swim. The top 3 Lions were Igor Bretas Dantas (2nd) 53:29, Hunter Hayes (5th) 56:22, Alasdair McGhee 7th (57:42).

The Emmanuel Women’s team finished 4th overall in the team standings with a time of 3:04.55 (top 3-Aggregate). Female swimmer, Zuzanna Malinowska was the top Emmanuel finisher, finishing in 17th overall in the individual standings with a time of 1 hour, 1 minutes, 19 seconds for the 5K swim. The top 3 Lady Lions were Zuzanna Malinowska (17th) 1:01.19, Valentina Aloisio (18th) 1:01.34, Gabriela Aguiar (21st) 1:02.02. Kansas, Nebraska, and Vermont were the top 3 women’s team winners.
