Emmanuel Defeats Carson Newman and SCAD in Double Dual

Franklin Springs, GA: The Emmanuel College Men’s swimming team won both dual meets on Saturday and remain undefeated in dual meets this season. The lions defeated the #1 NAIA ranked SCAD Bees 143 to 119; and the #15 NCAA ranked Carson-Newman Eagles 131.5 to 130.50. The meet came down to the last relay and Lions pulled it out, finishing 1st, ahead of both SCAD and CNU.

Top EC swims in each event:

  • In the 200 medley relay, the A relay (Rosa, Santos, Dantas, Sobers) finished 1st (1:29.19) 
  • In the 1000 free, Pedro Terra finished 1st (9:49.47)
  • In the 200 free, Alex Sobers finished 1st (1:38.94)
  • In the 100 back, Thiago Rosa finished 2nd (50.49)
  • In the 100 breast, Joao Santos finished 1st (54.47)
  • In the 200 fly, Alasdair McGhee finished 4th (1:58.46)
  • In the 50 free, Igor Dantas finished 1st (19.97)  
  • In the 100 free, Joao Santos finished 1st (45.32)
  • In the 200 back, Thiago Rosa finished 3rd (1:59.35)
  • In the 200 breast, Theo Courteaux finished 6th (2:19.77)
  • In the 500 free, Alex Sobers finished 1st (4:36.03)
  • In the 100 fly, Igor Dantas finished 1st (48.90)
  • In the 200 IM, Alasdair McGhee finished 4th (1:59.53)
  • In the 200 free relay, the A relay (Santos, Dantas, Rosa, Sobers) finished 1st (1:22.71)
