A day after breaking the NCAA Division III Record in the 800 free relay, the Emory Eagles were at it again with a new record in the 400 free relay. Lowering a mark of 3:19.56 they’d set a year ago, Emory swam to a winning 3:18.46 to end the 2018 NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships on a high note.
The Emory quartet of juniors Fiona Muir and Meg Taylor and seniors Ming Ong and Cindy Cheng improved on their prelims performance by 4.3 seconds. Three of the four were A-finalists in the 100 free individual event tonight. Muir, who won the Division III title in the 100 free, led off with 49.84. She was followed by Cheng (49.50), then Ong (50.08), who was 7th in the 100 free final, and finally Taylor (49.04), the bronze medalist in the 100 free.
