Energy For Swim Rome To Take Place In August

The official presentation for the international swimming event, Energy for Swim was held today at the Sala Rossa conference room of the Foro Italico Swimming Pool in Rome. The event will take place August 8 – 9and will bring together international teams USA, Australia and Italy as well as athletes of the Energy Standard Team in what promises to be a showcase event following the World Championships in Budapest, which will have concluded the previous week.

Welcoming guests, Paolo Barelli president of Italian Swimming Federation stated, “We at The Federation enthusiastically opened our arms to the idea of offering two more days of great swimming to Rome after the Sette Colli event. It’ll be a show within a show offering races and entertainment, all promoting a charity in support of children’s causes. I hope, that already from next year, Energy for Swim can be jointly organized with the international swimming federations.”

Andrea di Nino, event organizer, spoke about the technical aspects of the event: “I’d first like to thank President Barelli for having supported the idea immediately.  We are working towards bringing the best swimmers in the world to enrich our program with special challenges. For example: in the women’s 200 freestyle we’ll have Pellegrini and Sjöström, for the first time after Rio 2016, and in the  men’s backstroke we’ll have Ryan Lochte returning to compete against the best athletes as Ryan Murphy, Mitchell Larkin, Evgeneny Rylov and Kliment Kolesniko. In addition, we’ll have more surprises during the 100 Freestyle event where the London Olympic Champion will be diving into the pool… We will tell you later. We are also proud to be the first doping free international event, which only accepts athletes that have never been suspended. This is because we want to give a strong message for a clean sport.”

In addition to the support of Italian Swimming Federation and sponsorship by Roma Capitale, Energy for Swim is also possible thanks to the support of Arena, whose chief sales officer Luca Belogi affirmed: “We are proud and excited to present our brand alongside a new event format. Arena, which has always been a protagonist in the greatest international competitions, wants to support all initiatives that highlight this discipline. In this specific case, we would like to emphasize our shared commitment to the values of solidarity that are at the heart of this event.”

In closing, Konstantin Grigorishin, President of of the Energy Standard Swim Club, in his official thank you to President Barelli said: “Rome is a fantastic city. There is not a better setting to host a spectacular event such as Energy for Swim. A project that unites both sport and charity.”

Also present were the two champions Gregorio Paltrinieri (Team Italy) and Mikhailo Romanchuk (Energy Standard Team) who acted out a skit, light-heartedly challenging each other and setting the date for August 8-9.

An event therefore, worthy of an international television production comparable to such events as the World Championships and Olympics and will have worldwide coverage in over 75 countries.

Within the promotional program of the event, there will be a moment dedicated to each charity, the focus of Energy for Swim, that will take place in the stunning location of The Palace of Caserta where athletes and entrepreneurs will gather for a charity Gala Dinner that is guaranteed to be a unique event.
