WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men’s and women’s swim and dive teams concluded their road meet against Keiser on Friday. The Owls swept the competition for the first time this season, with the the men winning 143-119 and the women winning 165-97.

QUICK HITS

Men

  • Dalton Lillbridge was ticks away from the school record in the 100 breast, finishing in first with a time of 54.09. He also recorded a pair of second place finishes in the 200 breast (2:04.55) and 200 IM (1:55.42)
  • Logan Thornsberry came out on top in the 200 free with a time of 1:40.75. He was also less than a second away from the top time in the 100 free, but earned runner up with a time of 46.03
  • Maximiliano Ahumada took the gold in the 200 back (1:52.94) and third place in the 100 back (51.42)
  • Alec Peckmann was victorious in the 200 breast (2:03.87) and finished in second place in the 100 back (51.14)
  • Rateb Hussein won the 100 fly (49.42)
  • The Owls not only swept the top three of the 200 fly, but had the fourth-place finisher as well. Hussein won the event with a time of 1:51.10, followed by Cristoffer Weiss (1:52.4), Bennett Balogh (1:58.7), and Gianni Carlino (1:58.8)
  • The 400 free relay team (Hussein, Jackson Kirk, Peckmann, Thornsberry) won first place with a time of 3:03.66
  • Jake Bair (21.62) and Kirk (21.66) finished second and third, respectively, in the 50 free
  • Timo Paisley earned a second-place finish in the 1000 free (9:42.87). He also finished in third place in the 500 free (4:40.64)
  • David Arneskov tallied a trio of third place finishes in the 1000 free (9:56.93), 200 back (1:54.60), and 200 IM (1:55.63)

Women

  • The Owls swept the top three of the 100 back with Amelia Robertson leading the way in first with a time of 57.40, followed by Megan Drover-Smith (59.44) and Lauren Wright (59.8)
  • The team also swept the 200 back, with Robertson again in first place (2:02.14), Drover-Smith in second (2:05.74), and Riley Trout in third (2:09.75)
  • Kasia Szlek won multiple events: the 1000 free (10:34.74) and the 500 free (5:08.48)
  • Nika Culina earned the win in the 100 breast (1:06.53). Following right behind her in second place was Floyd (1:07.03). The two swimmers also dominated the 200 back, this time with Floyd winning (2:23.42) and Culina finishing in second place (2:23.6)
  • Dolores Margni took the top spot in the 200 fly (2:04.63)
  • The 200 medley relay team (Julia Earnshaw, Avery Floyd, Grace Molinaro, Robertson) finished in first place with a time of 1:45.96
  • In the 200 free, Maggie Casey (1:57.86) and Dominique Saguer (1:58.47) tallied second and third place, respectively
  • Lydia Lanahan placed in second in the 50 free (24.00) followed by Earnshaw in third place (24.39).
  • Maddy Archer logged third place in the 1000 free (11:00.35)

The No. 1 Keiser University Women’s Swimming fell to Florida Atlantic in a dual meet on Friday afternoon in West Palm Beach, Fla. Liya Goupil recorded three wins, while Hudson and Bradley each registered a win as well.

Meet Notes

  • In the 200 Butterfly, Hudson placed second with a time of 2:07.01.
  • Bradley came at a close second in the 500 Free with a time of 5:08.80 as she registered 4 points.
  • Noelia Garzon placed second for the Seahawks in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 57.72.
  • The Seahawks also had Hudson place second in the 200 IM behind Bradley. Hudson registered a time of 2:11.82.

Keiser will travel to Melbourne, Fla. to face the Panthers of Florida Tech on November 9th at 11:00 am.

The No. 1 Seahawks compete against Florida Atlantic University in a home meet on Friday afternoon. Keiser had six first place winner throughout the meet and came in first in the 200 Relay.

  • Keiser had Garcia place second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 49.74.
