FAU Hosts Princeton In Non-Scoring Home Opener

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University men’s and women’s swim and dive teams competed in their first home meet of the season against Princeton on Friday. The Owls won a total of six events in the action-packed afternoon.

QUICK HITS

Men

  • Dalton Lillibridge had another strong performance that included a first-place finish in both the 100 breast (55.82) and 200 breast (2:03.53)
  • Alec Peckmann took home the win in the 100 fly (49.90)
  • Jackson Kirk was less than a second away from capturing first place in the 50 free, placing in second with a time of 21.44
  • Timo Paisley earned a pair of third place finishes in the 1000 free (9:44.48) and 500 free (4:47.02)
  • Logan Thornsberry tallied third place in the 100 free (45.93)
  • Maximiliano Ahumada finished in third place in the 200 back (1:55.65)
  • On the diving board, Brandon Shepherd finished in third place at the 3-meter dive with a score of 289.73
  • The 200 medley relay ‘A’ team (Kyle Douglas, Kirk, Lillbridge, Peckmann) finished in second place (1:32.30)

Women

  • Amelia Robertson continued her streak of dominant performances with a win in the 200 back (2:02.97)
  • Dolores Margni won the 200 fly (2:05.30)
  • Alicia Mora won the 3-meter dive with a score of 272.63. She also placed in second in the 1-meter with a score of 252.08
  • Kasia Szlek placed in second in the 500 free (5:10.66)
  • Maggie Casey captured second place in the 200 free (1:57.80) and third place in the 500 free (5:14.40)
  • Avery Floyd earned second place in the 100 breast (1:06.80). Floyd also finished in second in the 200 breast (2:22.93)
  • Julia Earnshaw tallied a second-place finish in the 100 free (53.01)
  • Nika Culina rounded out the top three in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.75
  • Gabriella Freeman finished in third place in the 200 breast (2:26.20)
  • Molly Jordan placed in third in the 400 IM (4:42.50)

The Owls will next compete at Keiser on Friday Oct. 28 beginning at 3:30 p.m.
