Feeling Lucky? Enter the First-Ever Olympic Ticket Lottery for Paris 2024

Registration is officially open for the first sales phase of Paris 2024 tickets.

To enter the first-ever global lottery system for the next Summer Olympics, prospective buyers must register online between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31, 2023. Those selected for a time slot will have a 48-hour window to purchase tickets between Feb. 13, 2023 and March 15.

The first phase will feature “pack sales” where buyers can pick up to six tickets per session from three different sessions of sport. About 80% of the sessions will be on the market during the first month-long period. The opening and closing ceremonies as well as some high-demand finals sessions are not expected to be included in the first sales phase.

There will be another lottery from March 15 to April 23 for the second “single sales” phase. New time slots will be assigned starting May 11. Each account will be allowed a maximum of 30 tickets.

So far, Paris 2024 appears to be living up to its promise of an accessible and affordable Olympics with just about 600 days remaining until the Games begin. Of the nearly 10 million tickets available, almost half are priced at €50 or less while another million cost just €24 each. (€1 = $1.05 today)

“For the first time in Olympic history, tickets will be sold exclusively on a single, centralized and digital platform which will be open to all fans at the same time,” Paris 2024 organizers said. “Through this platform, nearly 10 million tickets will be available for the Olympic Games, with one million of these priced at just €24 and almost half priced at €50 or less for the general public. Paris 2024 is committed to accessible and affordable Games, and these ticket prices are available across the 32 sports on the Olympic Games program that are for sale (with the exception of surfing which will not be sold).”

Tickets for the Paralympic Games will be released in mid-2023.

Paris 2024 might weirdly end up being a cheaper meet to attend than the trials for Paris 2024….
