FORT MYERS, Fla. – Next weekend’s meet between the FGCU swimming & diving team (1-1, 1-0 CCSA) and FIU (0-0, 0-0 C-USA), which was originally slated to be hosted by the Panthers, will now be held at the FGCU Aquatics Center on Saturday, Jan. 23. The meet is set for a 3:30 p.m. start time and will be open to a maximum of 50 spectators. All attendees are required to wear masks at all times and must adhere to CDC guidelines, which include social distancing.

Saturday’s meet will be the second time that the two teams have faced off this season, as they already competed in the FGCU Invitational (Nov. 19-21). Over the course of the three-day competition, which also featured Georgia Southern, the Eagles racked up 1,420 team points en route to earning the overall win. FIU placed second with a final score of 994.

The action will also be part of a triple-header at The Nest. In addition to the FGCU swimming & diving team’s competition, women’s basketball will play host to Lipscomb at 2 p.m. and men’s tennis will kick off its season at 5 p.m. against FAU.
