FGCU Women Claim Third Sweep Of Swimmer And Diver Of The Week Awards

Florida Gulf Coast senior Sandra Wilk (Lexington, Ky) has been named the CCSA Women’s Swimmer of the Week while teammate Ashley Wright (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) is the Women’s Diver of the Week, for meets contested Oct. 31-Nov. 6, the CCSA announced Tuesday.

Wilk swam to a pair of wins in individual events against #29 FSU. In the 100-back she clocked a time of 55.89 and in the 200-back she clocked in at 2:01.02. Wilk was part of the 200-medley relay team and swam a 26.70 split.

Wright won and surpassed the NCAA mark in the 1m dive for the second straight time with 282.95 points. Wright’s mark in the 3m dive (284.15 points) ranks fifth all-time and was just 0.40 points shy of a personal record. Both of Wright’s efforts in events were good for season bests.

Also nominated for Swimmer of the Week: Michelle Case (Campbell), KaSandra Kaplan (Howard) and Morgan Rulevich (UNC Asheville).
