The Fighting Illini have landed a verbal commitment from Rebecca Corzine of O’Fallon High School in O’Fallon, Illinois.  Rebecca shows promise in fly, breast and the sprint freestyles and currently represents the Clayton Shaw Park Tideriders in St. Louis, Missouri.

Rebecca competed at the NCSA Junior Nationals this summer, and returned for finals with a 24th place finish in the 100 fly at the spring Region VIII Central Sectional Championships in the spring.  Her Coach at CSP, Dave McCrary, told SwimSwam “Rebecca will be a nice addition to the Illini.  Rebecca is very hard working and very dedicated to swimming.  Rebecca’s best swimming is ahead of her.

“The University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana is the perfect fit for me.  The combination of its exceptional academics and outstanding swim team will allow me to excel both in and out of the pool.  I can’t wait to be part of the Fighting Illini next year!”
