FINA World Aquatic Convention Continues Top Partnership with Counsilman-Hunsaker

FINA, the world governing body for the sport of Aquatics, has announced Counsilman-Hunsaker’s continued Top Partnership with the FINA World Aquatics Convention, taking place 29 November-1 December 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Doha (QAT).

A world leader in Aquatics facility design, Counsilman-Hunsaker has 45 years of experience ranging from existing facility evaluations to comprehensive concept development and project visioning. Taking an innovative approach to design solutions, it has studied over 1000 Aquatics facilities to identify areas for improvement.

“Counsilman-Hunsaker has been a loyal partner to the World Aquatics Convention since its inception in 2010,” said Dr. Julio C. Maglione, FINA President. “We recognise and appreciate the significance Counsilman – Hunsaker places on developing Aquatics and we are delighted to continue this strong relationship.

“The Aquatics family will have the opportunity to learn from Counsilman – Hunsaker as it shares valuable knowledge on sustainable aquatic facilities and provides insight that will assist our National Federations in developing our sport around the world.”

Examples of Counsilman – Hunsaker’s work include: the 1996 Olympic Aquatic Centre; 2015 Pan American Games Aquatic Centre; and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) Natatorium. The IUPUI Natatorium is renowned in the world of Swimming for the high number of national and world records achieved by the athletes competing in the facility, totalling 101 American records and 15 world records.
