The International Swimming League (ISL) is proud to announce that the first ever match of the ISL junior league will take place this coming Sunday (20th February 2022) at the Aquamore Bocconi Sport Center, at Bocconi University, Via Toscana, 30, 20136 Milano. The event will start at 9:30am local time.

There will be a total of 96 junior swimmers participating, drawn from local clubs around the area of Milano and Verona. They will be divided into four teams that will compete in a simplified ISL format. In addition to fast swimming, the idea is to give juniors a real ISL experience and to have many chances to compete in relays. Overall, it is expected to be a fun affair and we welcome the swimmers’ families and friends to join and cheer them on in the stands, as well as to participate in other activities, before and after the match.

The ISL’s Founder and President, Konstantin Grigorishin, will convene this inaugural junior match. He will be joined by a distinguished cast of personalities from Italian swimming, including Mr. Domenico Fioravanti (General Manager of Aqua Centurions and double Olympic champion), Mr. Andrea Beccari (Team Manager of Aqua Centurions, former World Championship medallist and European Champion), Matteo Giunta (Head Coach of Aqua Centurions and the former coach of Federica Pellegrini).

Furthermore, the swimmers will be greeted by a surprise guest – a legend of Italian sport. Importantly, this match is only the start, and the League will be announcing further junior initiatives soon.

The ISL team wishes all the competitors the very best in the match as it continues to support and cultivate the sport at the junior level and encourage broader participation, viewership, and engagement in Swimming.
