Riding the wave of success thrown down by Great Britain in the pool at the 2016 Olympic Games, the first batch of tickets for the 2017 British Swimming Championships are now available.
The likes of Olympic champion and world record holder Adam Peaty, double silver medalist Jazz Carlin and silver medalist Siobhan-Marie O’Connor are expected to compete at the National Championships, set to take place April 18th-23rd at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield. The competition, held in long course meters, will follow the standard format of morning prelims followed by evening finals.
The 2016 edition of the British Swimming Championships served as the nation’s Olympic Trials, where next year’s version will see swimmers compete for spots on the World Championships, European Junior Championships and European Youth Olympic Festival rosters. For the para-swimming portion of the competition, which is set to run April 27th through April 30th, will represent the selection meet for the 2017 IPC Swimming World Championships.
The full racing schedule will be released closer to the event. Tickets can be purchased via this link.
