Florida Secures Verbal from National Junior Teamer Anna Auld (2021)

Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Anna Auld, a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from West Palm Beach, Florida, has verbally committed to the University of Florida for 2021-22. She will join Brooke Zettel, Georgia Bates, Mary Kate Kelley, and Micayla Cronk in the class of 2025.

“I am so blessed to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of Florida. I want to thank my amazing friends, family, Coach Alison and Coach John for their support over the years. I can’t wait to join an amazing team and become a Gator!!!”

Auld is a junior at West Palm Beach’s Forest Hill High School. She recently competed at the Florida 4A High School Championships and was runner-up in the 500 free (4:51.51) and 3rd in the 200 free (1:50.63). Auld does her club swimming under John Kjaerulff and Alison Templin at East Coast Aquatic Club. She was named to the 2019-20 USA Swimming Women’s National Junior Team for open water after finishing in the top 6 at the 2019 USA Swimming 10K Open Water Championships. In addition to mid-distance and distance freestyle, Auld specializes in 400 IM and 200 breast. She competed at Speedo Junior Nationals this summer in the 400/800/1500 free and 200 breast, going lifetime bests in the 800 (8:54.50) and 1500 (17:00.81). Earlier in the summer she had swum PBs in the 50/200 free, 50 back, 100 breast, and 200 fly. Last spring at the Florida Gold Coast Senior Short Course Championships, she won the 500 free, 1650 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, and 400 IM. She was runner-up in the 200 free and 100 breast and took 3rd in the 200 IM. She left the meet with new times in the 200 breast, 200 fly, and 200/400 IM.

Auld’s 1650 time would already score at the SEC Championships, where current sophomore Leah Braswell won the event with 15:53.54 at last year’s conference meet. Her times are not that far off in her other events. It took 4:46.76 to score in the 500 free, 1:47.39 in the 200 free, 4:16.28 in the 400 IM, 2:13.24 in the 200 breast, and 1:58.80 in the 200 fly.

Top SCY times:

  • 1650 free – 16:34.66
  • 500 free – 4:48.14
  • 200 free – 1:50.54
  • 400 IM – 4:20.17
  • 200 breast – 2:17.81
  • 100 breast – 1:05.33
