Florida Tech Picks Up Futures Qualifier Allysann Holder (2023)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Allysann Holder has announced her commitment to swim and study at the Florida Institute of Technology this upcoming fall. Holder is wrapping up her senior year at Arbor View High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I am beyond thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to Florida Institute of Technology to continue my academic and athletic career. I would like to give a big thank you to my family, friends, and coaches who have greatly supported me through the past 8 years of swimming! I can’t wait for what the next four years has to offer! GO PANTHERS 🐾”

Holder trains and competes year-round with the Sandpipers of Nevada under coach Michael Kinross. She owns a Futures qualifying time in the 200 breaststroke, but she also swims IM and freestyle events.

Many of Holder’s personal best times come from the LaMirada Sectionals held this past December. She earned her highest finish in the 200 breaststroke, where she swam a best time by over three seconds to post a 2:20.78, good for 18th overall. She also dropped just over half a second in the 200 IM (2:09.84) and a second in the 100 free (53.45).

Last spring, Holder led her high school team to a runner-up finish at the 2022 Nevada 4A High School State Championships. She took home the state title in the 50 free in a personal best time of 24.52, as well as earned 2nd in the 100 breast in a best time of 1:06.38.

Top SCY Times:

  • 100 free – 53.45
  • 200 free – 1:55.83
  • 100 breast – 1:06.38
  • 200 breast – 2:20.78
  • 200 IM – 2:09.84
  • 400 IM – 4:34.70

Florida Tech is an NCAA Division II program located in Melbourne, Florida. The Panthers compete in the Sunshine State Conference, where they finished 6th out of 7 teams this season. Holder is poised to make an immediate impact for Florida Tech at the conference level, as her current best time in the 200 breast would have qualified her comfortably for the A-final this year.

Florida Tech did not qualify anyone to finals of the 200 breaststroke. Their highest finisher was sophomore Emma Keegan, who took 19th in a 2:28.52. In addition to the 200 breast, Holder would have also been the team’s top performer in the 100 breast and 400 IM this past season.

Holder joins Elizabeth Brewer, Brieleigh Wescott, Torie Whitbeck, and Sam Bullard in Florida Tech’s incoming class. The class hails from five different states, with Holder being the lone breaststroker of the group.
