Fly/Back Specialist Jason Rosen Verbally Commits to UMass Amherst

Jason Rosen of Plainview, New York has verbally committed to the University of Massachusetts Amherst for the 2017-18 season. “I chose UMass Amherst because of its great business school and excellent coaching. I’m looking forward to pursuing my goals, academically and athletically, with my new family at UMass Amherst. Go Minutemen!!”

Rosen swims for Team Suffolk of Metropolitan Swimming, where he specializes in butterfly and backstroke. He had a successful junior year and renewed his best times in all his best events: 50/100 free, 100/200 back, and 100 fly in short course season, and 50/100 free, 100/200 back, and 100/200 fly in long course season. This fall he has already updated his PBs in the 200y free, 100/200y breast, 200y fly, and 400y IM.

UMass competes in the Atlantic-10 Conference, which only scores two finals per event. Rosen is just outside of scoring range in his top four events, but he is joining a strong Minutemen squad that won the 2016 A-10 Conference Championships for its second consecutive title. Rosen’s best times are:
