Foltz Named Director Of Operations at NC State

RALEIGH- Wes Foltz has been named Director of Operations with the Wolfpack’s swimming and diving program on Friday, as announced by head coach Braden Holloway.

Foltz comes to Raleigh for his second stint with the program from Southern California, as he was a volunteer assistant coach from 2012-14 at NC State. He played a strong role among the Trojans’ coaching staff for two seasons (2014-16), as he helped coach its women’s 400 freestyle relay to a national championship title in 2016 and its men’s 400 and 800 free relays to titles in the 2015 season.

During his time at Southern Cal., Foltz helped the men’s team win the Pac-12 Conference Championship title and finish fourth at the NCAA Championship in 2015, and the women’s program win the 2016 Pac-12 title and take fourth at the 2016 NCAA Championship. During his tenure, he saw a combined 64 All-America performances.

As a volunteer assistant with the Wolfpack, he coached and provided workouts with all groups (sprint, middle distance and distance), helped set up Casey Aquatic Center for home meets and assisted with various trip and recruiting operations duties. Under Holloway Foltz helped coach a combined 25 student athletes to 53 All-America performances.

Prior to joining the Pack for his second stint Foltz has served as an assistant coach for the Marlins of Raleigh (MOR) and Trojan Swim Club teams, coaching and creating workouts while planning travel and trip details and set up for various meets. As a part of the Trojan Swim Club he worked with several Olympic Games medalist and qualifiers, and when he worked with MOR he was the lead coach of the 9-13 age group and assistant coach to the ‘Senior 1′ group.

Foltz graduated in 2012 from Towson University with a degree in business management where he was a member of the Tigers’ swimming and diving team. He was named Rookie of the Year by the program in 2009, received the Unsung Hero award in 2010 and was named Most Valuable Swimmer in 2011.
