While attending day 5 of the Georgina Hope Foundation Australia Age Swimming Championships, former Australian Head Coach Brian Sutton was arrested by local police for refusing to leave the Sydney Olympic Park venue. According to police, the 56-year-old former coach was asked to leave the competition, as he had no official accreditation to attend the event poolside and had attempted to use another person’s credential to gain access.

A video obtained by Australia’s 9News (seen here) shows Sutton being pried off of the railing and taken into police custody, where he was later released to a local hospital for treatment of a shoulder injury. He will reportedly be charged with resisting arrest and Swimming Australia has banned the coach from SOPAC for the remainder of the week.

Sutton served as the Australian head Coach through 2003, when he was fired for breach of team rules, which included arriving late to an official pre-World Championships training camp in that same year.

If there was no name mentioned anywhere in this article, I would have guessed this was about Shane Tusup, the beacon of self-control and rational behavior
