Former Florida Associate Head Coach Steve Jungbluth Resurfaces at Swim Tech Gainesville

Former University of Florida associate head coach Steve Jungbluth has found a new home in Gainesville four months after the Gators parted ways with him.

Jungbluth has spent the past couple months working at Swim Tech Gainesville along with Kim Brackin, a former head coach at Texas and Auburn as well as the ISL’s LA Current. The indoor facility features an endless pool.

Jungbluth coached at Florida for a dozen seasons before his departure last October. As a sprint specialist, he notably coached Caeleb Dressel as he rose to become the best college swimmer in history. Dressel continued to work with Jungbluth since leaving former coach Gregg Troy for Anthony Nesty’s group of Gators last November, specifically saying he would train with Nesty and Jungbluth. Jungbluth and Nesty helped Florida extend its SEC title streak to 10 years in a row at the conference championship meet last spring.

Before taking the assistant coach position at Florida, Jungbluth spent seven seasons (2003-10) as the head coach at Colgate University, and before that, was an assistant coach for three seasons at the US Naval Academy. He got his collegiate start as an assistant and interim head coach at Amherst College, and swam collegiately for the University of Massachusetts.

After Amherst, I think Steve spent a season head coaching at Austin College, an NCAA Division III team out of Sherman, Texas.

Last I knew as well. Perhaps Steve was in St Pete learning how her business operates?
